File Extension
Extension: ChemSketch Drawing
Developer: Advanced Chemistry Development
Opening an .sk2 file requires the use of ChemSketch software, or a compatible program capable of reading the ChemSketch file format. While other chemical drawing software might offer some degree of compatibility, ChemSketch is the primary and most reliable method for viewing, editing, and analyzing the data contained within. If you don’t have ChemSketch installed, you’ll need to download and install it from the Advanced Chemistry Development website. Once installed, simply double-clicking the .sk2 file should automatically open it within the ChemSketch application. If this doesn’t work, you can try opening ChemSketch first and then using the “Open” function within the program to locate and select your .sk2 file. Remember, attempting to open the file with a different program will likely result in failure or data loss.
